標題[文法] 沒有名詞

最近看到一句英文, 很少看到這種句型...
上google翻譯,也翻不太出來...
所以上來問, 想瞭解它的文法及意思..
Listening is as important as, if not more important than, taking notes when
attending a lecture.
主要困擾的是........
1) 看到as important as 以為as後面會有名詞,結果....是逗點
跟國中學的 as...as...(和..一樣) 印象有一點落差, 所以在這邊卡住!
2) more important than 以後than 後面會接個名詞, 結果是逗點.....又卡一次
3)逗點後 突然又一個動名詞, 再卡一次
連三卡之後, 就看不懂整句了>"<
類似的句子還有...
1) A researcher's salary can be as high as, if not higher than, that of a professor.
2) Expectations can be as great as, one's ability.
