標題[請益] Nor的意思及用法

在書上看到這麼一句話，在查閱辭典後，
對其nor的用法和意思仍不是很確定，
所以想請問一下，節錄前後文如下：
A linguistically or dialectally diverse nation needs a
standard language to permit mutual intelligibility.
Nor is it just a nation. In a global society, it is the
whole world that can benefit from a lingua franca.
我自己的猜想，這裡nor應該是指「不僅」的意思，
只是在手邊的辭典上查不到這樣的用法和意思，
所以想上來問問看確認一下。
