標題[文法] 關代與if的用法

1 The result of the exam depends on ____ you are well prepared for it.
(A) whether (B) if
請問，因為A.B.都有"是否"的意思，也都可以引導名詞子句，所以
這兩個答案都可以選嗎，謝謝~
2 Green building frequently uses natural resources.
These resources are extracted locally and transported to the building site,
the reason ____ is to reduce pollution.
(A) for which (B) which
請問，該選哪一個，我自己覺得唸起來A比較順，但認真去分析文法，又覺得B比較合理，
因為for the reason is to reduce pollution應該是錯的。謝謝~
