在文章中看到這兩句話

function given incomplete biological knowledge and inconsistencies in how
this knowledge is manually curated.
意思是懂了，可是對於文法感到有點疑惑。
1. 第一句為什麼用 have proven 而不是 have been proved?
2. 第二句In biology和後面的句子中間不用逗號嗎?
我以為應該要這樣 In biology,a major...
3. 第二句中為什麼要用has been而不用現在式 is 就好?
