[請益] sound like a bore?

這是在英文小說裡看到的句子

前文是說一個女生的朋友邀請她吃飯，替她解了圍

她吃完後說 thanks for the invite.

接著後面敘述："Even to my ears I sounded like a bore."

想請問sound like a bore是什麼意思？
