[考題] another or the other

  The history of cats goes back forty million years. Cats today have the same
traits as earlier ones: sharp teeth and a good sense of smell. However,
some types of cats are very different, for example, the Saber-Tooth and the
Cheetah.
  The saber-toothed cat is called Smilodon. Smilodon had two large teeth
shaped like dagger. A full-grown Smilodon could weight 200kg. Although it was
the size of a lion, it was a much better hunter.

請問第三段，we have後面那個空格要填another 還是 the other.
我的想法是，這文第一段結尾for example後面只舉了兩個種類，
所以空格處，我就選the other。但答案是給another.
請問是答案有誤，還是有another解讀的可能性。謝謝~
