標題[文法] Nobody was to be found on the street.

大家好 想請教一下 街上毫無人影
Nobody was to be found on the street.
上面這句話是對的
是否可以改成
Nobody was found on the street.
因為我覺得to be 是否可以省略，意思這樣一樣嗎? 文法有沒有問題呢?
