1、Rule by the white minority in South Africa ended on April 27, 1994, when the
ANC won the first multi-racial elections. Then-ANC leader Nelson Mandela was
inaugurated as president the following month.

為什麼最後一句後面不是說in the following month呢？為什麼少了介系詞in？

查了following有介系詞的用法跟after一樣，那這邊為什麼不是說

following the month.愈講我也愈糊塗了。@@
