[文法] there is/are 中 who/that的省略

查Dr. eye字典中看到這一條文法:

There/It + be ...
結構︰There／It＋be 動詞＋主詞＋（省 that／who）子句

說明︰本<句型>中的 that 和 who（一般不用 which）
      即使做<子句>的<主詞>，也可略不用。

    There's something (that) makes him happy.
    有什麼事使他十分高興。
    There's a man (who) wants to see you.
    有位男士想見你。

我一直以為這個連接詞不可以省略，所以看到這，我有點疑惑，
作文考試或正試考式可以用嗎，謝謝。
