One Main Event Affecting Taiwan
Please state one current event in the world that Taiwanese should pay
attention to and explain why it is so important.
Ebola
1. The deadly outbreak of Ebola has raised the awareness of the Centers
for Disease Control of Taiwan.
2. According to the on-line news Ettoday.net, there is a very low chance of
the Ebola spreading in Taiwan though; the government of Taiwan should focus
on the foreign tourists, especially from western Africa.
3. First of all, “prevention is better than cure.”
4. CDC has raised its health advisory on travel to the affected areas from “
Watch” to “Alert,” and it urged Taiwanese to pay double attention to
Ebola.
5. Second, about 80 the overseas compatriots and Taiwanese businessmen in
Nigeria, one of the affected areas, need to be taken care of.
6. Then, the deployment of medical team is to distribute the medical
equipment to the Taiwanese in Nigeria, including 200 lab. clothes, 100 inner
isolation gown, 100 N95 respirator, to prevent disease transmission.
7. Besides, Taiwanese medical staff instructs the guidance of Ebola prevention.
For example, teaching the locals how to sterilize the environment is
another better way to control the outbreak.
8. All in all, lowering down the possibility of Ebola outbreak is definitely
the current goal for not only the Taiwanese but also for the foreign visitors.
