這個句子其實原本最簡單的結構只有 It was as if [A]. 這個was是這個句子的動詞。
[A] 這裡面是一整個子句
這句話挑出來看，就只是 The only way was (for me...).
way後面接了一長串()裡面的，又是一個修飾way的子句 any of us就只是一個主詞
為了更清晰我們暫時換成we就好
We could be sure that {B}. 這又是一個完整的句子
{B} 裡面又是一個完整的子句 My body was clear of infection.

: 這樣看來似乎能理解這句再講甚麼

Capital-C "Closure" 意思是「大寫C的 Closure」
這種Closure指的是一種心情的收尾
舉例來說，可能一對男女朋友漸漸感情淡了，就慢慢沒聯絡。這時候可能有一方
就會覺得，沒有一個Closure，雙方沒有講清楚到底是不是算分手完了。他可能
就會跟對方連絡說，我們講清楚吧，好讓我有個closure。
這段看起來他是在說，那些來關心他的人，與其說是真的來關心他，倒不如說
是想要給他們自己找一個答案，劃下一個句點。
強調大寫C Closure只是強調說他們來要求的是一個很大顆的句點。
