[Talk] Love, Peace, and…Shaved Ice!

Recently the weather in Taipei is just like summer. It seems ꄊ"Autumn Tiger" refuses to leave us. For a person who had been
in the cold place, I really can't stand the sweaty hot seasons in TW.
To cope with this, I've developed a habit. That's buying (Taiwanese)
shaved ice and eating it in the morning as my breakfast.

The reason I call it "Taiwanese" shaved ice is because it differs
from the shaved ice (the other name is "Hawaii ice') in the U.S.
I like Taiwanese shaved ice better. Because although the shaved ice
in U.S. has many flavors, they just put different flavors of syrup
on the top of ice. In another word, you are just eating some artificial
flavored syrup with ice there.

The Taiwanese shaved ice, however, has far more choices. There are plenty
you can choose from. I believe very few people haven’t eaten it in Taiwan.

Back to the topic. So I go to night market near my place every other day
to purchase a bowl of shaved ice or two. Since I am not too picky about
sweet things, I always order the same flavors. Red bean, mung bean,
white fungus and lotus seeds are the items I choose every time.

In the end, I even don't have to tell the vender girl what flavors I want.
When she sees me, she'll ask "Two bowls, right?" After I say yes,
she'll recite the flavors I want without any doubt. And later she will
bring my ice with nice, sweet, charming smile.

Good girl… I praise her in my heart. Should I make a move? Nah.
I am too righteous to do something like that.
Even she is attractive, I never say more 10 words to her when I buy the
shaved ice. I just say my words with a serious look. After all, all I want
is buying my breakfast.
I need cool feeling, and a girl like her is just too hot for me.


Feel hot and uneasy?  How about eating some shaved ice to cool yourself off
a little bit. :)
