So my friend received an unpleasant surprise when he came into office yesterday, and before he fully realized what had just happened, he was already holding his packaging box and became officially unemployed. That's probably the worst present anyone can get from their boss a week before Thanksgiving. Just a year ago, we were having Thanksgiving luncheon at a warm recreational resort. Ironic? I think so too. I'd probably be the one to get laid off if I were still in the States. I'm glad that I quitted on my own. Taking my eyes back on the Taiwanese news on TV, I closed my message window and continued watching our political debates at the time of economic crisis.
