It is said to be successful, one must learn to put of one's desire. Scholars in the Stanford University once carried out a well-known experiment called "the marshmallow experiment." From this experiment, they inferred that the one knowing how to repress one's desire has a rather high probability to succeed; conversely. those gulping the marshmallow down on getting it are likely to be nobodies years later. Seeing this, I can't help reflecting that I am the very typical one conforming to the subjects in the experiment. From childhood to adulthood, I always, without fail, doing whatever I want to do the moment the craving for doing so occurs to me. Accoringly, led astray by the surrounding distractions, I almost fail in every dream I pursue. How should I draw myself away from this pathetic, looping nature? -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 115.43.37.186
