I'm just back from the US from a research program. Wondeful experience, this is the best summer I ever had. ok, get to the point, I met several Chinese(China) students in the same program and found they really like to talk about TOEFL, GRE, GMAT...blablabla, seems that they all have strong desire to study abroad. On their social website "Renren", lots of past tests and suggestions for the TOEFL flood over the blog. China's economy is soaring up, everyone knows that, so money is not the problem for them anymore. But here in Taiwan, some do go to cram school and prepare hard for those international English exams, but it's still rare for a college student to have this American dream. I wonder if this is because of ppl tend to be full-up for the status quo? or Taiwan's graduate institute education is truly getting better so much that ppl just want to stay here? For me, Money is still a big concern. Had been in US for a a month, I realized the expense of living is WAY TOO FAR than Taiwan, the cherry and grapes are cheaper though.....but the environment is cozy, the lab is bigger. It indeed is the great place to study or do research. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 123.110.64.190
