[Ask ] How to make the situation less awkward..

So there's this guy who says he's got something very important that he have to tell me in person, and he's gonna take me to the beach and all that. Well, I think I know what he's about to say. The problem is.. I don't think he will be very happy at the end of the day... If he does wanna tell me what I think he wanna tell me.
So... Should I call off this 'date' and start avoiding him? Or at least listen to what he have to say? how to make the situation less awkward.. Sigh.
