Spanish Word of the Day (Friday, February 20, 2009) mojar, verb to get ... wet; to moisten, to dampen Mojar describes the action both of getting something wet accidentally, or deliberately putting it in liquid to moisten or dampen it. No mojes la alfombra. (Don’t get the carpet wet.) Moje ligeramente el sello. (Moisten the stamp a little.) You use mojarse in the reflexive to talk about when you accidentally get wet, for example in the rain. Seguía lloviendo y nos íbamos mojando todos.
