A new bus for London

The New Bus for London is inspired by the much-loved Routemaster and will use
the latest green technology when it launches in 2012.

The New Bus for London will meet London Buses' requirements for vehicles in
public service in London, including high standards of accessibility, safety
and emissions abatement. In addition, it will be more durable, more fuel
efficient and better ventilated. The bus will incorporate a double-deck and a
platform at the rear near-side corner, so passengers will be able to get on
and off easily.

The Mayor unveiled the design for the New Bus for London in May 2010.


Design features

The New Bus for London has a pioneering, futuristic design that features:

*Extensive use of glass to highlight key features and produce a light and airy
 feel inside the bus
*A glass 'swoop' at the rear and offside to pick out the two staircases
*An open platform at the rear, shared with the Routemaster of old, which can
 be closed off at quiet times and which allows the reinstatement of a hop-on
 hop-off service
*Three doors and two staircases for smoother, speedier boarding and access to
 the upper deck.

原本想選[情報]的，但想想距離2012新車上路好像還有一段時間
現在那來當情報好像要放很久
就選[閒聊]，讓未來有興趣要去倫敦的朋友參考參考好了

不過資料中似乎未提及未來的乘車與扣款方式！

目前倫敦的公共巴士
無論單層、雙層，或是單層雙節（甩尾車）
原則上都是前門上車
秀一日票，或拍卡（非接觸式的Oyster卡），或給公車票
（車票在站牌的自動售票機賣，車上不收現金
　沒有上述三種票券上車，有機會被趕下車）
而傳統的Roadmaster則只有一座後門與一組樓梯
由車掌負責收售票款或驗票

但新車好像沒有提到這部份
我普普的聽力只聽到不需要設置車掌
我想對於從中門或後門上車的乘客
會採取榮譽制的自行拍卡（或許搭配抽驗查票）
在現行較長的甩尾車上，似乎就有這樣的收票方式

這款可容納87名乘客的新車
將採用油電混合（Hybrid）的新引擎
減少排放40%的二氧化碳
並提高40%的效能

對於這款新車的目前感想
只覺得那弧度圓得很有形，蠻好看的
而車正面的斜邊造型塗裝也是一絕
很簡單的方法就讓車瞬間充滿未來感！
