"I remember when we met for the first time backstage at the MTV Awards,
probably around the time of 'Jerry Maguire' and 'Trainspotting,' " McGregor
recalled.
"We were both very much starting out, and I met this tiny, shy little
creature backstage who wanted to meet me and could barely speak she was so
shy. I remember clearly meeting her, and I was very taken with her. Years
later, we would meet with films we were up for, and I didn't get, or she
didn't get.
"But I love the idea of partnerships with movies," McGregor said. "We click
as people and we click onscreen, and we work very well together. I hope this
is No. 2 in a long line of films we do together. I don't know why this
shouldn't be the case."
