Hello dear everyone, I'm in France right now and I can't get the WIFI to
work on my own computer, so forgive me for typing in English....
(if u have any question, ask ppr to translate XD)
SO,
I went to see CASSANDRA'S DREAM today. In English. Yeah~
and.......
it is good. I don't know why the critics slammed it, I don't know what
they expect from the old man, but for the movie itself, it is good.
Not GREAT. But quite a nice thriller, with good suspence.
The plot is actually quite simple (which is probably why the critics don't
like it), but this should appeal to the public, then again, it is not as
"exciting" as MATCH POINT, oh well....
And most of the plot summary we've been reading are misleading, which is
a good thing, I can only say so. The girls are fine, but not much of
importance here, it's the boys.
and Ewan is GOOD. I feel he hasn't been so good in a long time (well, I did't
see YOUNG ADAM...:P), and he hasn't have such a long screen time either....
Do you know what I'm talking about????
ANYWAY, Ewan is having a nice change recently, which is exactly what I
wished, he should shake off the nice guy image he's got (since STAR WAR?)
and be BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD. Hee Hee Hee.
I am not going to spoil it for you, but I can say Ewan plays it very
realisticly, he is not over-the-top, you can see the complicity of his
character and understand why he does the things he does, although you
won't "like" him. I personally think this is the best-written role in the
whole film, or Ewan just played it so well.
Colin Ferrel is not bad here too, I wasn't irritated by him this time, (XD)
the role is a nice change for him too, but for me, it is not as interesting
as Ewan's charecter. I am just talking about the characters in the film
here..
Finally, the movie has quite a classic feel here, very Hitchcock-ish,
especially the music by Philip Glass. SO, see it when u have the chance,
but don't we always do that for all Ewan's film? XDDDDD
Until later. Ciao.
