West Ham United’s injury-plagued striker Dean Ashton is reportedly set to
shock the Premier League by announcing his retirement from the game.


The tabloid claims that the 26-year-old has been assessed by specialists in
Amsterdam, where he has been warned that if he were to continue playing he
could end up in a wheelchair.

Ashton has suffered injury problems throughout his career and broke his ankle
whilst on international duty with England in 2006.
