FreeBSD elements were always components of Mac OS X, even a lot of
latest 4.x versions. So Apple wrote "The upgraded kernel, based on
FreeBSD 5.x, [...]", not that they replaced their old mach kernel.
And this is yet another nice line with exactly sixtysix characters
