Sounds helpful, though I think it would be good to keep it in some kind of "advanced" section or even an article. The ports/pkgs section is already heavy reading. I'd hope it would at least mention pkgtools.conf(5) so users know the special arguments don't HAVE to be typed in for every use. The handbook doesn't mention it now.
