[傷兵]Carlos Beltran

Brian Giles, who dealt with similar knee pain in 2007 to that of Beltran now
and ultimately had microfracture surgery, recommended to Beltran that he lets
the knee calm down and be ready for next year, the NY Newsday reports.

Recommendation: The Mets may be starting to think that way, too. Beltran took
batting practice and shagged fly balls in the outield last week and had
talked about coming back by late August. However, the team scrapped plans for
him to travel to Port St. Lucie while the Mets were on the West Coast.
Instead, Beltran remained in New York, where his physical therapy could be
closely monitored by the medical staff. Beltran is looking more and more like
a candidate for microfracture surgery, and the earlier he has it, the better
shot he has to be ready for the start of the 2010 season.
