Seattle Mariners top prospect Dustin Ackley might stay at second base as
management continues to experiment with him as a middle infielder.
水手高層打算讓農場的頂級新秀Dustin Ackley 待在剛轉練的二壘手守位上。
GM Jack Zduriencik told the Seattle Times, "The kid thinks he can play second
base, the people who have been around him -- Mike Brumley, Darrin Garner --
they're all very excited by what they see as an infielder. I'd like to see it
myself. Everything we're hearing right now, it looks real good."
水手GM說每個教練都跟他說這年輕人現在在內野的表現棒透了。
Meanwhile, his agent Scott Boras might be pushing that boat, too. Zduriencik
said Boras and Ackley are both on board with the position change (which came
after an arm injury that put into question whether he'd be able to play CF.)
The other option is first base or center field, but Ackley's value might be
higher at second.
Ackley原本主要守CF和1B，但在手臂受傷後，他本人跟他的經紀人Boras都同意Ackley轉任

ESPN MLB Insider Keith Law has some concerns, though. He writes, "The Mariners
have messed around with Ackley at second base, which would potentially make
him more valuable but also introduces the greater injury risk faced by second
basemen, as well as the overall developmental risk that the time he devotes
to improving his glove could detract in some way from his development with
the bat."
但ESPN的專家Keith Law對於這點表示了他的隱憂，他擔心Ackley因為需要投入更大量的
時間練習二壘守備，將降低他的打擊能力發展。
