LHP Matt Thornton was on the shelf for the last two games, after the Sox were
forced to go to the reliever in the first four games of the year.
Manager Ozzie Guillen did say that Thornton should be fine for the start of
the Toronto series on Monday, but they want to avoid using any of the
relievers in four consecutive games. As far as Thornton, he said that he felt
fine and didn't foresee any lingering effects from all the early work.
If LHP Randy Williams can be more consistent that would at least allow
Guillen to use Williams against certain lefties, rather than count solely
on Thornton.
