Mike Stanton is not in the lineup for Double-A Jacksonville on Sunday
according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro, further fueling speculation that he will
be called up on Monday.
Stanton is likely to meet the team in New York on Sunday and then travel with
them to Philadelphia. He should be in the order, making his major league
debut, on Tuesday against Kyle Kendrick. Stanton's mammoth power is well
known, as he's posted a line of .311/.411/.726 with 21 home runs in just 52
games at Double-A, but he is a bit strikeout prone. Don't be surprised if his
first few weeks in the majors are characterized by a lot of strikeouts,
punctuated by a few highlight-reel homers.
