Jake Peavy is expected to land on the 15-day disabled list this week with a
strained right groin.


Peavy suffered the injury Sunday while pitching against the Tigers. "We'll
evaluate it and see some doctors, but it'd be hard for this thing to just go
away," he told reporters after exiting in the fourth inning. "We have a lot
of equipment [for treatment], but the way I feel when I walk, [the disabled
list] is a pretty safe bet." The right-hander has made just five starts this
year.
