Padres manager Bud Black said Anthony Rizzo will not be used in a platoon
situation at first base.As it should be.
The Padres aren't calling Rizzo up
Thursday in order to share time at first with Jorge Cantu. He'll be the
everyday player there and hope to provide a much-needed jolt to the Pads
offense. Rizzo is batting .365/.444/.715 with 16 home runs and a 1.159 OPS
for Tucson this season.
