Royals manager Ned Yost said Alex Gordon and Jeff Francoeur have likely
made their final starts this season, as he wants to get a longer look
at Lorenzo Cain and Jarrod Dyson.
It's an unfortunate bit of news for fantasy owners of the two veterans
that are looking for a strong push to the finish line, but the move
makes sense from the Royals' perspective. Gordon has had an impressive
year, batting .303/.376/.502 with 23 homers, 87 RBI, 17 steals and 101
runs scored. Francoeur also had a nice season with a .285/.329/.476
batting line to go along with 20 homers and 22 steals.
