Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak confirmed Friday that Chris Carpenter
is dealing with a nerve issue in his right shoulder.
Not good, as Carpenter has previously dealt with nerve issues in 2004, 2008
and 2010. He'll need to rest before re-strengthening his shoulder, similar to
what he did at the tail-end of 2008, so there's no clear timetable for his
return. Lance Lynn will replace him in the starting rotation for the time
being and is suddenly an enticing sleeper pick in NL-only formats.
