Lance Berkman will be sidelined 8-10 weeks after having surgery Friday to
repair a meniscus tear.
He also had a cartilage tear shaved down, but the important thing is that his
ACL didn't need to be repaired, which would have cost Berkman the rest of the
season. Now, it appears that he could be ready sometime in August. It's great
news for a Cardinals team that's dealt with their fair share of injuries this
season. Matt Adams will continue to handle first base for now, but Allen
Craig (hamstring) is due back in a week.
