Cardinals placed LHP Jaime Garcia on the 15-day disabled list with a left
shoulder strain.

Advice: Garcia has been dealing with shoulder issues for over a year and will
visit Dr. James Andrews to try to get some answers. Surgery could ultimately
be the course taken. The Cardinals are calling up reliever Mitchell Boggs on
Saturday to fill their vacant roster spot but will have to add a new starting
pitcher soon. Maybe 2012 first-rounder Michael Wacha will get a chance.
