Padres placed RHP Huston Street on the 15-day disabled list with a strained
left calf.
Manager Bud Black said the plan is for Luke Gregerson to get most of the work
in the ninth. Dale Thayer will serve as the fallback. Street was 11-for-12
saving games this season, but he had allowed seven homers in 20 1/3 innings
and taken three losses. The two weeks off might be a good thing for him.
