Alex Pavlovic of the San Jose Mercury News is hearing that there "have
been in-house discussions" in recent days about Matt Cain's health.
Advice: Cain lasted just two-thirds of an inning Wednesday against the
Mets and now has an uncharacteristic 5.06 ERA for the season. It's not
clear what ailment the Giants think he might be dealing with or if any
tests are planned. For what it's worth, Cain's velocity has been fine
this season, but he's certainly been prone to blowup games.
