Clay Buchholz

Clay Buchholz (shoulder) made 40 throws off flat ground Saturday.

Advice: Buchholz still doesn't have a timetable to resume throwing from a

mound, but he's expected to need three bullpen sessions, a simulated game

and at least one rehab start before being cleared to rejoin the Red Sox.

While Buchholz is moving in the right direction, he may not be ready until

late August.

Jason Grilli

Jason Grilli (forearm) has vowed to return this season.

Grilli is expected to miss 4-8 weeks after he strained the flexor muscle

in his right forearm last week. The good news is that the injury is

muscular in nature and not related to a tendon. As of now, he is not a

candidate for surgery. "I'm going to be ready before the season is out,"

said Grilli. "You can mark my word on that." Grilli is expected to rest

for nine to 12 days before being re-evaluated. Mark Melancon will continue

to handle the closer role in the interim.

應該是不會本季OUT 但還要過一陣子再檢查一次 ...Melancon當CL看來是會很久...


Aramis Ramirez

Aramis Ramirez took batting practice again Monday, but his recovery from

a left knee injury is still going slowly.

Advice: "I'm not healing as well as I thought I would," said Ramirez.

"I don't know why. I'm doing everything I can, but it's not coming out like

I hoped." Ramirez went on to add that it's "probably going to take the

offseason for me to get back to where I was." There remains no timetable

for his return to the lineup.
