Sergio García could be set to rejoin Barcelona with negotiations already
having started after Pep Guardiola named the Real Zaragoza on his list of
wanted players for next season.

The striker is currently with the Spain squad preparing for Euro 2008 after
his surprise call-up following an impressive campaign despite los Maños
relegation to la Segunda.

After Guardiola was confirmed as Frank Rijkaard's replacement at Camp Nou, he
told the board that he wanted to see more homegrown players in his squad,
even if it meant buying some old faces back.

Gerard Piqué arrived from Manchester United on Tuesday after four years at
Old Trafford and Sergio García is next on the agenda with a fee of €10m
being mooted.

Barça's technical secretary, Txiki Begiristain, knows that he will have to
be patient after Zaragoza asked for more time to work on their summer
rebuilding plans.

The Aragónese club are working on which players to buy and sell to appease
fans after they dropped down to the second tier of Spanish fotball on the
final day of the season.

Sergio García's agent, Mágico Diaz, already knows of Barcelona's interest
and his client is said to be very excited about a possible return to Camp
Nou, where he rose through the youth ranks.

After playing four first team games during the 2003-04 campaign, the forward
spent a year on loan at Levante and then another loan spell at Zaragoza was
made permanent.

Having played as the third choice striker behind Diego Milito and Ewerthon
two years ago, Sergio García was given his chance last term with Milito and
Ricardo Oliveira failing to gel.

His impressive second half to the season saw Luis Aragonés call him in to
the Spain squad for Euro 2008 without having ever tested him at any level
before.
