Barcelona have signed young Union Atletica Maracaibo midfielder Franco
Fasciana ahead of the new season...
The 18-year-old, while highly-rated, will begin his blaugrana career in the
reserve team, Barcelona B.
Barca B are currently battling for promotion from the Tercera Division to the
Segunda Division B, and it will be in the latter contest that Fasciana hopes
to take part in a bid to strengthen his first team credentials.
The midfielder, born on the 9th of May 1990, broke through to the azulgrana
side this season, and has also excelled in the junior national team sides.
Indeed, Sport.es claims that it was his showings with the 'Vinotinto' U-17s
that saw Barcelona so interested in his signature.
With negotiations completed, Fasciana will arrive in Catalunya on July 12th.
The player's agent explained, "Several teams in Spain wanted him, but we
believe that this club will be a good place to grow."
