Eidur Gudjohnsen is keeping his options open leading into the new season, and
the Premier League is one of them.
Gudjohnsen is back in London with Barcelona for the Wembley Cup, and he is
considering making England his permanent home once more.
Speaking to The Guardian, he said, "I can't confirm whether I'm staying or
leaving.
"I think it's a matter of time and only time will tell what will happen. My
future is a little bit uncertain.
"For the moment I'm a Barcelona player but we all know in football that
everything can change very quickly. I'm only thinking about getting myself
fit for the new season, whether that be with Barcelona or another club.
"We will see."
Gudjohnsen, who rose to fame with Bolton Wanderers and then Chelsea, said
that he had fond memories of the Premier League.
"I look back at my time [in England] with great memories," he continued.
"It was a wonderful time but whether I will return to England is not so sure.
I think we can only see what the future holds.
"Whether I move depends on a lot of things, but my decision will be only
sporting, nothing else. I'm not at a stage where I've spoken to any other
club.
"Maybe in the future I will be able to comment."
Gianfranco Zola is thought to be keen to reunite with Gudjohnsen at West Ham
United, while Aston Villa and Sunderland have also shown an interest in the
past.
