Analysis of Barca B players by the football blog, Diarios de Futbol,

Goalkeepers
Oier Olazábal, 20: The Basque goalie is the youngest of the Barca At.

Defense
Sergi Gomez, 18: Out of the 4 CB's of Barca At., all of them with good
skills playing the ball, he's the most spectacular. Serious driving the
ball, he breaks the pressure easily, although sometimes he has too much
confidence in this, which makes him be near the error sometimes.
Very precise in the pass, good game vision and able to add himself
to the midfield. Starter in Barça At, even though he still is in
the Juvenil team, being the age the only thing that prevents his
promotion to the first team already.
Marc Bartra, 19: Serious, efficient, never complicating
things and always playing easy. He can play in any of both CB positions
and he can even perform as right full back with attacking projection.
Due to the injuries in the first team, he made his debut in the Calderón
in that position (Feb 14). Less vision than Sergi Gomez, but more secure
in defense.
Andrey Fontàs, 19: Ready. Consolidated as CB after his first
steps as midfield, physically and mentally, he's ready to be tested in
the first level. Good skills playing the ball and powerful in his
defensive interventions, he missed the last part of the last season due
to an injury. He made his debut in the first team last year, playing
instead of Piqué in the last minutes of the last Barça-Sporting.
Marc Muniesa, 18: Known since his famous debut vs Osasuna in 2008,
when he got a red card after a hard tackle, the lefty CB has been
considered as the main pearl of the youth system in the defensive
department. Great vision and fantastic skills with the ball in his
feet, he still needs to improve in anticipation. Sometimes he also
had problems to concentrate after an error. It's important to
highlight his epic actions that make him be a modern defender.
Albert Dalmau, 18: Attacking and polivalent right back that can also
play in more advanced positions. He was called the day Marc Bartra made
his debut, although Guardiola finally prefered the last one to defend

in the Juvenil as winger, because he scores and assists easily. The
most similar player to Alves in the youth system.
Martin Montoya, 19: Physicaly power for the right back, technically

Carles Planes, 19: Left back, classy, good skills playing the ball

Armando Lozano, 25: CB signed from Cartagena last year. Without protagonism

Midfield
Oriol Romeu, 18: Defensive midfielder, never loses his position
and finds solutions to play the ball from the back. Safe cutting balls,
good positioning and he doesn't go forward very often. Ideal to play as
anchor man, although he can also be a good complement for the creative
midfield.
Marti Riverola, 18: One of the surprises last year. Midfielder that
reaches the box easily, one of the top scorers of the Juvenil, even
scoring in 10 games in a row. Skilled in the dribbling and good vision,
he made the debut with Barça At. last year.
Ilie Sanchez, 19: Central mid retrained as RB by Luis Enrique as a
consequence of the injuries during the promotion playff. Serious, good
in headers, powerful and gifted in the anticipation, interesting coming
from the 2nd line, he uses to surprise. He never loses the position.
Victor Vazquez, 24: His ideal place is the playmaker one, but he makes
good performances in the central midfield or in any of both wings.
Technically very well gifted, with brilliant moments. He has been given
several chances in the first team, but he never seemed to make the final

called to several training sessions after his serious injury.
Sergi Roberto, 18: Luis Enrique gave him a place in the Barca At, despite

Even though he didn't finally play so many games with Barca At., he
reaches the box easily and shows a good shot. His time in Juvenil A
was very short, he practically promoted from the Juvenil B.
Jonathan Dos Santos, 20. Metronome. He controls the tempo
of the game and makes the distribution wherever he wants, with good
long passes. He may lack a bit of continuity in the short pass and
to be a bit more confident in his attacking actions. Whenever he
feels free, he creates a lot of danger, generating good chances for
his teammates and using his powerful shot.
Thiago Alcantara, 19: Extremely good. Unpredictable central
midfielder, with touches of genious and leadership capacity. He likes
to carry the responsability on his back and be the protagonist.
Individualist at moments, he shines when he plays for the team.
If he wants, he will triumph.
Strikers
Edu Oriol, 23: Skilled and fast winger, good crosses and reaches the
box easily. The individualism loses him sometimes. Important in the
last part of the previous season.
Benja Martinez, 22: Strong and tall striker, Luis Enrique uses to
place him as right winger, where he doesn't dribble, but breaks defenses
with power. Hard worker and oportunist in 2nd actions.
Jonathan Soriano, 24: He made his debut in Primera with Espanyol, but
without continuity, he went to Barça At. to feel important. Top scorer
last year, his main talent is the assassin instinct. He doesn't need to
appear in the game to grab one and change it all in one second.
Nolito, 23: Extremly fast winger, skilled in the dribbling and
unbalancing for the defenses. He scores easily and he is very constant
in the games, since he likes to participate. He pressures the rival's
defense a lot and it's similar to Pedro in that sense.
Ruben Rochina, 19: Lefty striker, elegant, star of the Juvenil
A with discontinuous appearances in Barça At. Good free kick shooter,
in power and precision. His left foot is like a glove.
