1.Consider two processes P1 and P2 where p1=50,t1=25 and p2=
75,t2=30.
a.Can these two processes be scheduled using rate-monotonic
scheduling?Illustrate your answer using Gantt chart.
b.Illustrate the scheduling of these two processes using earliest
deadline-first(EDF)scheduling.
2.Please list,in summary,what jobs the I/O subsystem should supervise.
3.What is "STREAMS" mechanism?Please also explain the structure and
the operation of the STREAMS
4.Please make comparisons between Network Operating Systems and
Distributed Operating Systems.
5.Please discuss the solutions to the network contention problem.
6.Remote-service and caching are two useful methods to remote file
access.Please compare the tradeoffs between the two methods.
