因為「五王之戰」結束了，幾個大家族目前死的死，傷的傷，
少狼主與小龍后，一個在北，一個在東，對於Westeros都起不了太大的影響，
於是一群腐生的烏鴉與豺狼就趁著獅子與狼都不在的時候大快朵頤。
每場大戰過後，最後總是那些烏鴉和豺狼聚集起來，啃食著戰場上留下來的血肉。
所以這一集裡面活躍的大都是屬於這一類的角色。
就像原文版封面內頁寫的：
But as in the aftermath of any climatic struggle, it is not long before
the survivors, outlaws, renegades, and carrion eaters start to gather,
picking over the bones of the dead and fighting for the spoils of the
soon-to-be-dead. Now in the Seven Kingdoms, as the human crows assemble
