之前的Booker得獎作品《美麗線條》(The Line of Beauty)中文譯本近期會出版
其他三本小說(包括Booker shortlist的The Folding Star)主要在描述70, 80年代
同志社群的生活(The Spell主要是關於同志圈裡用藥等次文化的描述), 以下入圍名
單中的The Swimming-Pool Library更被Edmund White認為是近代描述同志生活最傑
出的一部作品。
Colm Toibin
作品擅長描述人物內心思緒情感的起伏, 作品中也常見處理母子之間的關係
而極受好評的The Master則是非常細膩的描寫Henry James內心的同志情愫(中譯本
由天培出版)
