新東方百勇語法裡面"比較結構"那一章裡的 "as 或 than引導的比較從句省略原則"
的第4點有提到: 比較從句主語跟謂語與主句主語跟謂語相同時可以全部省去，
保留介詞短語跟狀語從句
numbers 因為跟主句的主語一樣(都是numbers)，所以可以省略，留下
"when the use of DDT was sharply restricted in the early 1970's" 這個狀語從句
這個好像是比較特殊的省略用法
