先修正打字錯誤，整理如下：
700 farmers raise the productivity on their new modernized farm,
"double the number of those" farmers in previous year.
(A) double the number of those
(B) double those
(C) two times the number of those
(D) twice those
(E) twice as many as those
思考流程：
一、按照題目內容，決定本題乃「兩年人數」的比較。因為原文稱「有七百人提
高生產力」，但並沒有任何生產力的數字，而每個人的生產力也不會一樣，
所以無法做生產力大小的比較。
二、要比較「人數」，那麼答案部分就應該出現 the number of, 否則會變成
700 跟 those farmers 做比較，而產生歧異。因此答案剩下(A), (C)。
三、double 當形容詞用，後接名詞，字典例句如下：
He earns double my salary. 他賺的薪水是我的兩倍
The price is double what it was last year.該價錢是去年的兩倍
四、～ times 可以表示「～倍」但文法書上說，兩倍要用 twice，三倍以上才
用「數字」＋times，故淘汰 (C)。
五、選 (A)。
最後，若這題真是實戰考題，那麼出題者的某個文法點要加油了：阿拉伯數字因
為無法「大寫」，所以句子的開頭按照文法規定是不能夠用阿拉伯數字的，應該
改成 Seven hundred farmers 才對。
