D選項卻把have amassed當主要動詞，原本是主要動詞的draw卻變成分詞Ving。
",ving"表接續動作時通常是指「幾乎同時發生」的連續動作。

GMAT通常會偏好陳述一整件事實(包含S+V)用句子表達，而不是用prep+N+Ving

在出現so ... as to 跟 so that的時候，這裡給你一個小建議，
通常GMAT在前面有多個動作發出者時(大部分的時候)，
為了避免to V的動作發出者不清，會優先用so that後面補出S+V
表明是誰發出這個動作的。
這裡的to marry不知道是King要結婚，還是Queen Catherine要
但是D選項補出he就很清楚了。
也就是說，若前面只有一個動作發出者，那麼用so as to就不會造成歧義。
