為什麼四月是殘酷的呢?
T. S. Elliot的《荒原》如是稱之，是因為林肯的死?
是因為他專制獨裁的手段猶如春雨之滋潤，以暴力譴責取代了黑人奴役，
於是蠢蠢欲動的生靈們，混雜了受虐的記憶與權力的慾望，生出了邪惡的根??
成書於一次大戰後的這本詩集，
嘲弄人們對極權掌控與冰冷死亡冬天的一再失憶，對人類文明有著深刻的反省。
八十年後今天的世界，是否如這首詩一樣地浮動(-ing)
處處充滿生機，也處處充斥著死亡的訊息?
April is the cruellest month, breeding
