PR N°2 - FIBA U19 World Championship draw this Thursday


RIGA (2011 FIBA U19 World Championship) – The draw for 2011 FIBA U19 World
Championship for Men will take place in Riga, Latvia on 17 February.
The event will be held at the Blackheads House and start at 11:00 local
time (10:00 CET).

The 10th FIBA World U19 Championship for Men will be played in the cities of
Liepaja, Valmiera and Riga from 30 June until 10 July 2011, and will see teams
from 16 countries compete, featuring the world’s best young players born in
1992 and after.

第十屆U19男子世錦賽將在6/30~7/10於拉脫維亞的Liepaja, Valmiera and Riga三個城市
比賽 參賽者為1992年後出生者

Going into the hat for the draw are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China
, Chinese Taipei, Croatia, Egypt, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia,
Serbia, Tunisia and USA.

參賽國有 阿根廷 澳洲 巴西 加拿大 中國 台灣 克羅埃西亞 埃及 南韓 拉脫維亞
         立陶宛 波蘭 俄羅斯 塞爾維亞 突尼西亞 美國

For the first group stage, which runs from 30 June-2 July in Liepaja and
Valmiera, the 16 participating teams will be drawn into four groups of four.

預賽16隊分四組 每組四隊打單循環 於6/30~7/2比賽 各組前三名晉級

The three top placed teams from each group will advance to a second group stage
, consisting of two groups of six which runs from 4-6 July. During the second
group stage, each team will face the three new teams in their group.

晉級的12隊分兩組 每組六隊單循環 預賽同組對戰成績保留 比賽在7/4~7/6比賽
各組前四名晉級決賽

The top four teams from the second group stage advance to the quarter-finals,
which are scheduled for Friday 8 July. The semi-finals will be played on
Saturday 9 July and finals on Sunday 10 July.

決賽共八隊 採單敗淘汰賽

All qualifying round, quarter-final, semi-final and medal games will take
place at the “Arena Riga”.

Latvia previously hosted the 2009 EuroBasket Women, with the same three venues
being used. The FIBA U19 World Championship will be the first time Latvia
hosts a worldwide FIBA event.

Please also note that the draw for the FIBA U19 World Championship for Women
– to be played in Chile from 21-31 July – will be held on Friday 18 March,
in Puerto Monte, Chile at 17:00 local time (21:00 CET).

女籃U19將於7/21~7/31在智利舉行 抽籤將於3/18舉行



在這裡還是要恭喜台灣 雙雙獲得男女籃U19的參賽權
能站上國際舞台 絕對是一大榮耀
而台灣的籃球 也很久沒有站上過世錦賽的舞台了
期望這次能讓參賽的球員們更進步 讓台灣籃球更進步
