Unit 9
Seven years ago when Yuan moved to the United States, she entered an ESL class
in a local high school.
The students there kept calling the teach "Miss White." She felt that ware
being disrespectful.
One day she asked question to the teacher, Miss White with an unhappy face
interrupted her and said "Teacher is my title at work. My name is Miss White."
She was angry and sad for a few days, until she asked her uncle the reason.
He told her that she should try to understand what is done here and avoid
making the same mistakes.
(After the incidents,when she is not sure what to do, she observes other
people and do things the way they do them.)
