The statistics say that it was extremely close match -
for example
total points won: Daniela 89 Karolina 86;
break point conversions: Daniela 6/13, Karolina 6/17;
aces 4-4;
double faults 6 - 9;
no statistics on winners/unforced errors ratios.
Daniela lost to Sprem in this year's Italian Open in Rome easily 2:6, 2:6,
that's why this victory is even more valuable.
In any case, it's a great result for Daniela - she managed to beat
two higher-ranked players and now she is playing quarterfinals -
against winner of the match Sugyiama vs Lichovceva. I guess Dani has
nothing to lose in this match, she can only gain. Because of my
wrong guesses of Dani's matches lately, I will better not guess her
next match - let's just say - it's open and each player has chances
to win.
